Chairman of Jury Seho Lee , pianist

Seho was born and brought up in South Korea and Studied piano (Bmus, summa cum laude) at the Chuga University for Arts and opera coaching (Artistic Diploma, summa cum laude) at the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul. Among for his outstanding academic performance.

In 2007, he joined the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Keyboard and Collaborative Piano Department as a pianist Fellow and to study for a Master in Piano Accompaniment, a Postgraduate  Diploma in Repetiteurship and a MMus Piano for Dance. He gained a distinction in these courses.

During this time he worked closely with the Scottish Ballet and the RCS Ballet School. He also won all Duo Competitions for singer and pianist at the RCS and he was honoured to perform as a representative student at the RCS graduation Ceremony. During this period he worked as an accompanist at the Birmingham Royal Ballet, English National Ballet.

From 2012-2014 Seho studied the Opera Repetiteurship Masters course at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he is also a Fellow Pianist on the Steinway Piano Scholarship scheme which is awarded to the best students who audition for the school. Based on Seho’s outstanding performances, he has continuously won numerous scholarships which have enabled him to study all of his courses on a fully-funded basis.

Among the over 40 competitions which Seho has won are the Seoul Youth Competition in Korea, Osaka International Competition (Piano Duo) in Japan, Alberta Conservatory Competition in Canada and a number of competitions in the UK including the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Piano Accompaniment Prize, the Frank-Spedding Lieder Prize, Hester Dickson Prize for Piano Accompaniment, Peter Lindsay Miller Prize for Piano Duo. In the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama he was awarded the Mansel Thomas Prize for the best Piano Accompanist. He also won the 2012 Delius Prize and performed the Prize-winner Recital in Steinway Hall. More recently,  Seho won first Prize at the Young Musicians International competition “Citta di Baretta”

Seho teaches Masterclasses in Beijing International Masterclass Series, Guizhou Normal University, Harbin Normal University, North-East Normal University, Chanchun in China among others.

Concerto performances include Seoul National Symphony Orchestra, Korea Air Force Band, Chugye University for the Arts Orchestra, Busan Sinsegi Orchestra, Electon Ensemble, Jeju Hanla Wind Ensemble, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Orchestra and Royal Welsh College Music and Drama Orchestra among others. He has taken part in the Edinburgh International Festival and the Fringe Festival, Oxford Lieder Festival, Leeds Lieder Festival, British Youth Opera Workshop, Aberdeen International Youth Festival, Aberystwyth International Festival, North Sea Vocal Academy as well as various other festival in Europe and Asia. Seho has also performed at St. James’ Palace in London and Dora Stoutzker Hall, in the presence of the British Royal Family, representing the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2008 and The Royal Welsh College Music and Drama in 2012. He has also represented the RWCMD in recital in Ischia, Italy, at the home of the late William Walton.

In 2014, Seho has been the Pianist/Piano Accompanist, Opera Repetitur and International Relations Representative at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, a role which includes coordinating RIAM’s international auditions, performances and masterclasses. Seho has also recently been appointed as a Guest Professor at the Guizhou Normal University, China. He is also a professor at the Beijing International Voice Masterclass Seris and International Relations Advisor of the Journal of Music, Korea. He has performed in many international acclaimed concerts and has also assumed a wide varieties of other roles such as Piano Accompanist, Opera and Ballet repertituer and teacher.

He is the Chairman of Jury for the Kingsburg International Piano competition and a Jury for the Journal of Music, Korea and the Kota Kinabalu International music festival. Malaysia and Hi “C” International Singing Competition, China. He is Artistic Director of Clontarf Coffee Concert Competition Series and a Ballet Pianist of Irish National Youth Ballet in Dublin Ireland, Assistant Director at Jackdows Opera Youth Artist Programme and the Live Music Now Artist in the United Kingdom.
